Our own little shop hop!

Today I had the opportunity to take a little shop hop with a couple of great quilty friends!  We took a road trip down to Bakersfield, California.   We went to "Strawberry Patches...not your grandmother's quilt store" at 6439 Ming Ave.  This great shop is owned and run by Suzanne Zingg.  www.strawberry-patches.com   What a wonderfully bright and cheery place to shop for everything wonderful!  Thank you for greeting us with open arms.

Hasn't Suzanne done a great job with her displays?  Such a fun and happy place to shop!!

Then we took a little detour to the "Dewar's Soda Fountain & Fine Candies" shop, at 2700 Galloway Drive in Bakersfield.  They are known for their peanut butter toffee!

Yes, this is my ice cream cone!  Would you believe that the waitress asked if I wanted two scoops?
It is maple nut and was very yummy!!

I have a finish to turn in tomorrow at quilting!  Doesn't this remind you of the 70's?  Thank God for donated fabrics (lemons) and beautiful quilts (lemonade)!!

  1. Thank you Vicki for visiting us with your fun (and slightly crazy) friends! We so enjoyed your visit and love your photos here. I'm also glad you found our famous ice cream shop. Next time you might try the cupcake store behind us. Sweet Surrender has been featured on the Food Network and in O magazine. Aren't we lucky to have two wonderfully fattening places so close? =)

  6. That quilt is SOME lemonade. Wow! I think 70s looking quilts are super-hip right now (Chicopee!) and I'd be thrilled to have a quilt just like this on my sofa. I also wish I was a little closer to CA (am on the other coast, in MA), because you've made that quilt shop look divine. :)
