A kitty UFO wallhanging!

We received these kitties as a whole cloth with all 4 squares still together and embroidery around all 4 kitties.  I brought them home and....

Cut them apart...

Added some sashing...

Added a wider outside border, and started quilting.  They already had batting behind each kitty, so by adding a second layer of batting, it made them really puffy!

A simple all over meander in the squares and a spirals in the borders.

I attached the binding by machine and added the hanging loops.

It is 21 x 21.  Small, but cute!!

  1. What an adorable wall hanging! I can totally see this hanging in a young girls room. It is quite sophisticated. Love that you chose a dark sashing and border. Really highlights all that embroidery work. Well done!

  5. That is cute and so clever! I'm not sure I would have thought of that idea upon seeing that cloth. I'll be looking at things like that differently from now on. I love that you can do the quilting on your sewing machine! I really should look into whether or not I can do that on mine or getting a newer and nicer machine. That looks like SO much fun and very rewarding.
