A Needle Book--swap!

I have never done a swap before!  Yes, that's right...never.  Amy, from Amy Made That by eamylove invited all who were interested, to join her needle book swap.  I jumped at the chance, but explained to her that she'd have to walk me through it all.  She has been more then patient and kind in doing just that.  Thank you Amy!

First thing one has to do is choose the fabric.  I don't know the maker of this line, but I love the colors.  Whitney had said that she liked pink, so I felt safe with this choice.
Next I free handed Whitney's name and pieced the front, back and cut out the 'spine'.
I then quilted the front and back with FMQ, and attached them to the spine.
 Front.
 Back.
I put a pocket that goes from front to back.  Everyone needs a place for their snips!

How did these get in here?....isn't she cute?  She is now 9 mo old and weighs in at 16lb 9oz!
Beings Whitney does EPP, I figured that she'd need a place to put her projects in progress, so, I decided to make a large pouch for her also.  I again free handed her name for the front and fussy cut these fun center squares.
I then quilted on each side of the stitch line in the patchwork, and outline quilted around each center fussy cut picture.
The inside has one invisible zipper pocket and one slit pocket.
 Back.
I decided to include the left over fabric...just in case there is something else she wants to make.

I sure hope you like this little set Whitney!  It has been a blast being part of this swap, and hope that I can do another someday.

I just heard from Whitney, and she likes it....she really likes it!

  10. Stopping by from Bee Social. What a great needle book and pouch to match. Whitney is lucky and so sweet to embroidery her name on them so no one can accidentally grab them as theirs!

  11. What a wonderful swap package! The needle case is so sweet, and the zippered bag is gorgeous. Great idea to add the leftover fabrics ... enough for a teeny zippered pouch! Enjoy your week, Wendy x
