A very special friend deserves a "Vicki" purse!

While shopping at Joann the other day, a very special friend said that she was struggling with what color she wanted her "Vicki" purse!  Well, I can take a hint as well as anyone, and these are the colors she was mentioning.  I asked her about a few details that she might want in a new purse and set out to make it as special as I possibly could.

I used the same pattern I had used with mine, and got it cut out and pieced in no time.  I decided to keep the quilting simple on this one.

This little tool is one I am anxious to share with you.  I have been using this tool for years, and didn't realize how much I would be using it in making bags and such.  It is called a "Dritz Loop Turner".  I found them on Amazon for $4.78.  If you don't have one...I highly recommend you get one.  Especially if you do applique.

You get the little pointy part into the fabric about 1/3 in. down from the top. Hook the loop over the top of the fabric, pull to lock the fabric corner in and begin tugging...slowly.

Pretty soon you will have the end of the fabric peeking through the bottom of your tube and you can work it out the rest of the way.  Now just manipulate this tube and press it flat!  These are the tabs for the handles that the 'D' rings are in.

Here is this simple casual purse.  It is the perfect size for everyday use.

I decided to put a little bit of red behind the tag so that it would show up on the inside.

This purse also has feet on the bottom.  It measures 11"Hx12"Wx5"D.  It was so much fun to make this for her.  Shhhhh...it is a surprise!
