I make more than quilts!

If you have been following the happenings around here, you know that I have a whole front room (lounge) full of new furniture.  We got new floors, painted the walls and the new furniture arrived about 2 months ago.  Well, none of the old décor on the walls nor the curtains match the new goodies, so I was forced to make new curtains!


When we were out purchasing our rug at 'Home Fabrics', my husband ran across this great linen fabric and we both thought it was perfect.


Our ceilings are 9 feet, so it takes a lot of fabric to make floor to ceiling panels.



I did simple rolled hems all the way around.  We decided that a ruffle on top wasn't our thing, so it is a simple rod pocket for the top.




The short side window has just a valance and the two long front windows have the floor to ceiling panels.

 

I collect colored glass, and have a LOT of it.  The print on this fabric depicts glass jugs and vases.

I will get photos of the rug, now that it has arrived.  I will also show off all of our new furniture some day soon..

    Looks wonderful! Such a bold, modern design....I agree...ruffles might have been too girlie for that print. Can't wait to see the finished room!

    The bright, modern colours make for a lovely set of curtains. I think you made a good choice not to have ruffles with this fabric.
