I really don't like to dust...really!

So, I'm thinking that if I can cover all the horizontal surfaces in my sewing room, I can wash!  I almost have them all covered, and here is my latest runner.

I found this stack of pre-cut pieces, and decided that I'd just use them to make this runner.  Why cut into something new, when I had all of these perfectly good rectangles?

I decided to do a flower FMQ.  Well, I'm not real good, but this was a wonderful forum to practice.

This is that little table that I made in high school wood shop a million years ago.  It adds a bit more color to this corner for sure.

One less surface to have to dust each week!  I have sense gotten a 6 shelf bookcase.  I have my work cut out for myself.

  8. You could certainly be very busy making runners for all your surfaces, but it is a nicer way to be busy than dusting! xx

  9. I like the way you think! This is such a nice table runner, and the floral quilting turned out great!!! I agree with Amy at love made my home, that making table runners is a lot more fun than dusting, too. Your table from the past is also very nice - looks great modeling the new table runner. They really knew how to teach "a million years ago," right?

  10. I'm with you on the no dusting, Vicky! The small table runner is a great way to practise your flowers, not that I think you need practice. Your FMQ is lovely. A beautiful table runner.

  13. My husband asked for runners on our bedroom furniture. It does eliminate dusting (although we vacuum them occasionally). Yours turned out perfect

  15. You are so funny with that last line! I was laughing at that one. But that table runner is very cute and a great idea. And why don't we use up our scraps more often, making interesting things like this? A great idea (and I love that lobster pillow in the foreground, too!)
