Day 2 & 3.... All 6 of the guys showed up on time and away they went.
They were efficient and quick! It took them about 6 1/2 hrs to take up all the old flooring. It was very noisy and dusty. I sat in my bedroom with my sewing machine set up and started a couple of new projects.
I'll show you more later...
Chipping out all the old tile was not easy. I am so glad that it's gone. They chipped out the tile in front of the fireplace too. I wanted the new floors to butt up next to that
They actually had time to start installing the floors that same day. I tell you, these young men were fast!
Day three....Mr H needed a place to eat breakfast. I will admit, I laughed when I walked around the corner and saw him sitting there, trying to eat a bowl of cereal.
Day 4....Base boards back and all is ready for the furniture to be moved back in. See what I mean about consistent flooring? I am VERY pleased with my new floors.
Now it's time to paint. I just hate this wall color with the new floors. It used to look yellow/gold....now it looks pee green! Yuck!!!
It always amuses that one job completed leads to a new one! I love the look of the new floors too!
The new flooring looks lovely, and they did a great job! It is funny though how when you change one thing you find that something that you liked before is now no longer to your taste or you realise that other changes are needed that you hadn't anticipated! I am sure though that it will all be beautiful once it is finished!! xx
It looks great. Genius way to eat cereal lol
Amazing the different new floors make! LOOKING GOOD! However, I did get a chuckle at the thought of you sewing away amongst all the commotion!! :)
Floors look great! One project begets another...have fun painting !
Wow!! What a difference your new flooring makes!! Alas, this leads to the painting of all the walls, BUT, once you have painted them it will be akin to living in a brand new home!! It will all look superb when it is finished!! Happy painting!! ;)
WOW!! The floors look amazing!! If that was my house I'd hate to put anything back in the room ;) I love freshening up a room, and the painting could be a very quick job if you do it before moving the furniture back in. I love the continuity of the floors through kitchen & living room too ... that would be my preference too. Enjoy! Wendy x
