Another UFO - Square in a Square!

Here is a beautiful UFO that was also donated by Cindy at Live A Colorful Life.  We appreciate her generosity and kindness.  She had made 12 blocks, and I knew that this quilt needed to be much bigger then that.  I was super fortunate that she had donated all the scraps along with these beautiful blocks.
So I set out to make enough blocks to total 30.
I knew that we'd still want it bigger still, so I bought some solid green from Hancock for 3 in. sashing.
All the sashing and the corner stones are cut and ready to be sewn!
 It's coming along.
Here she is waiting for me to cut out the outside border.  I didn't have enough of one fabric, so the border is a 6 in. width of all the leftover fabrics.
She ended up 89x104!  A great size for a queen bed.  The binding will be the pale stripe fabric.  You can see it better in the picture above.

What a beautiful, calming quilt! I liked the blocks when I saw them in the first photo, but your choice for sashing and border really pulled it all together. Someone will be very pleased to receive such a lovely gift.
