Joy in the morning!!!

Let me start out by saying...I am one proud mama!

Do you see this beautiful log cabin pillow? Well, my daughter made it!! This is the first quilt block she has ever made. She is catching on to sewing so fast. She got her first sewing machine ever in June (from me for her birthday), and has been picking up the art of sewing so quickly.

She made an envelope back for her pillow. Did I mention that I am a proud mama?

She is also very resourceful. She was looking for a way to put the sewing machine cover on her machine without having to unthread it each night. She made a "thread hammock"!! Young minds....how do they come up with these ideas?

Next I wanted to say a bit about donations. I think that by now, most of you know that I deal with donations on a daily basis in my quilt making. We get our donations from many sources, and have now started to receive them from some of my blog readers!! I was so excited to get a call from the church office to let me know that I had two new boxes waiting for me!!

There was an abundance of wonderful fabric goodness inside of each of the boxes I received! Thank you so much Lisa L.!! Your generosity is greatly appreciated. If there is anyone who would like to donate to a great charity, leave me a note in your comment, and I can get back to you will all the information about where to send it.

Thanks again Lisa L.!!!!

On my way to Needle & Thread Thursday over at My Quilt Infatuation with Kelly as our host.  She is one busy, talented quilter.  Thanks Kelly!!

You have every right to be proud of both your daughter's beautiful cushion and the generous donation from Lisa! There will be no stopping either of you now!

Well of course you are a proud mama!! What a wonderful pillow your daughter stitched!! Like mother, like daughter.....you both share a seriously clever and talented gene pool, Miss Vicki!! What a good idea is your daughter's thread hammock...definitely thinking outside the square!! And....last but certainly not least...how lovely that people are motivated by your 'story' and want to contribute oodles of yummy fabrics so that you can then stitch for others!! 'Tis a blessing you are, Miss Vicki!!

Nice pillow cover!
I love the thread hammock!! I have a similar machine and I don't like having to unthread every time I put it away. I might have to make one of those for myself :)
